Accessibility at Commencement
The University of Utah is committed to providing access for individuals with disabilities. The Commencement ceremony is held at the Jon M Huntsman Center. The following services are available to assist the campus community in access to Commencement.
Closed Captioning
The Jon M. Huntsman Center will provide closed captioning for the University Commencement event. The closed captioned text will be displayed on large videoboards in real-time during the ceremony for guests and students to read.
ASL Interpretation & Captioning Services
ADA Drop-Off and Pick-Up
For the University Commencement ceremony, individuals who have mobility needs can be dropped off and picked up at the south entrance half circle at the Jon M. Huntsman Center (displayed in the map below) off of South Campus Drive.
ADA Parking
Guests with a current ADA placard can park in designated ADA stalls available on a first-come, first served basis.
Seating and Access
The Jon M. Huntsman Center has ADA spaces in the arena for those who use a wheelchair. Please know there are limited spaces available and are on a first come, first serve basis. Wheelchair stalls are located on the concourse-level of the arena near each entrance door.
Service Animals
Wheelchair Access
A limited number of wheelchairs are available to transport guests from the loading/drop off area to guest seating. Requests can be made with a guest services team member. The loading and unloading area is located on the east side of the Huntsman Center at 1850 E. This area will have appropriate signage to direct guests of Commencement.

Accessibility for Students
Access to the arena floor of the Jon M. Huntsman Center can be difficult for some individuals experiencing mobility limitations. Graduates who need to use an elevator to access the arena floor can meet a staff member from the Center for Disability and Access near Portal 7 in the Jon M. Huntsman Center to use.
